PROPELLER LAUNCHES INTEGRATED POSTAL SERVICE FOR HOUSING SAFETY CORRESPONDENCE

Propeller has partnered with Postworks to launch an integrated postal service within its workforce management software, enabling social landlords and their contractors to bulk-mail housing safety correspondence with a full audit trail.

The launch comes as new rules increase the need for more transparency and formal customer communication in social housing. Recent changes include a requirement to send Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) to existing tenants within 28 days of inspection, and to new tenants before they move in.

The integration is powered by the Postworks API, which connects Propeller’s platform directly to Postworks’ hybrid mail infrastructure. Documents generated within Propeller can be sent for printing and fulfilment instantly, removing the need to export files, transfer documents to external mailing houses or manage manual posting processes. Postworks handles the printing, fulfilment and dispatch, while production and delivery data is returned automatically to the Propeller platform so organisations can see exactly what was sent, when and to whom.

The service is also designed to reduce environmental impact. Postworks operates as a 100% carbon-neutral platform and plants 11 trees for every 10 used, aligning with Propeller’s environmental values, which saw it certified carbon-neutral by ClimatePartner in 2020.

“Staying compliant with housing safety regulations is becoming more demanding for the social housing sector, adding to administrative burdens,” explained Dave Carr, Managing Director of Propeller. “Although digital communication is increasing, the post is still widely used for sending housing safety documents ranging from repairs and maintenance appointment letters to compliance certificates.

“Many organisations still rely on third-party mailing houses, which requires someone to physically transfer documents and often leaves no internal record of what was sent. That’s an unnecessary weak point in what should be a watertight compliance process. Postworks’ technology eliminates this by bringing the entire mailing workflow inside our platform.”

Marvee-Lisa Booker, CEO of Postworks, said: “When correspondence relates to compliance or safety, organisations need more than confirmation that something was printed. They need to know exactly what was sent and when. By integrating Postworks directly into the Propeller platform, housing providers can send important tenant correspondence in seconds while maintaining a clear, defensible record of those communications.”
