When Anthony Watret, Operations Director at Watret & Co was looking for a new service management system in November last year, his primary objective was that the software needed to deliver.
Having experienced numerous challenges with their previous software provider, Anthony needed to find a software solution quickly, that met all their needs and would support them to fulfil their contract obligations to their clients.
Fast forward four months and we caught up with Anthony to discuss the challenges they were facing, why they chose Propeller, and his advice for other service companies migrating to new software.
What problems were you experiencing with your previous software?
“Let’s just say we had a challenging experience with our previous software provider. We were in the position to lose a good new contract and needed an IT system to deliver there and then, be the best and step up to the mark. Propeller did that with ease.”
Why did the decision go in Propeller’s favour?
“The Propeller system is highly responsive and created solutions for us there and then. Within 2 days we had made more progress than in 8 months by our old provider, and at a quarter of the price.”
What has been your experience of moving over to Propeller, the on-boarding process (e.g. the training, development etc.)?
“Highly effective with little to no problems. Personally the only way to do a migration is to jump on all contracts. The decision to run the old system and Propeller wasn’t the best one. Even more so that Propeller delivered straight away. It has been manageable but I would strongly advise against this migration procedure of one contract then the others. Jump with all and jump quickly is the only way for a truly smooth migration.”
How have your users adopted to the new system?
“Process wise some logic is different but in a short period of time you can understand the Propeller logic and it is very easy to obtain and user friendly.”
You have only just started using the system, but have you seen any benefits yet from using the Propeller system?
“The wall planner is great – you can guarantee a definitive slot for a resident. Within one week end user calls for properties on the new system were 75% less than the properties on our old system. It may sound minor but when multiplied this benefit is worth its weight in gold.
The real test for us with Propeller will come with “scaling” and ease of integration. When these two areas come into fruition then we will see the true benefit of Propeller and Propeller will come to life. In the back of our minds the reason for Propeller was a long term strategy.”
