With the Fire Safety Bill receiving Royal Assent on Thursday 19 April 2021 and became an Act of Parliament and The Building Safety Bill becoming an Act of Parliament on 28 April 2022 there has been an increase for data management within housing to be scrutinised in more depth.
Dame Judith Hackitt in her post Grenfell report recommended a ‘golden thread’ of good quality information, to buildings to be designed, built and managed safely, the golden thread will have to be kept in a digital format. Having the information available digitally will mean it is more accessible and can be easily updated. This means it will be available to the people who need it in order to maintain building safety.
